![]() Yes I agree with you but sometimes the user need to scan for issues and fix them. ![]() Some of the other guys here can add to the list of "crapware" programs and their personal experiences along these lines. Ī look over in the HJT/removal section will show that many infections started with "i installed (insert fancy name here) and now my machine is screwed up. there is a reason that the evil people behind them design them to look that way. Look at how may of these "products" are used to access and corrupt/infect machines. I personally believe that 95% of the registry cleaner/crap remover programs out there are worthless if not right down malicious. Researching a product/program before using it is required to keep a machine from becoming infected. Running a registry cleaner is asking for a corrupt computer. No program can determine what every key does and if they obsolete or unneeded. Removing one key can leave your computer inoperable. The registry is a file that contains all information Windows and programs use. Even Microsoft failed to create a registry cleaner. There is no proof that they do anything other then corrupt your system. ![]() Like noknojon said Registry cleaners are junk and do nothing more then screw up your computer. In a nutshell this allows you to restore the changes you made in case something stops working after you run the cleaner. reg script that contains the registry keys you are about to remove. and just like any other tool, when used indiscriminately can cause damage (think about hitting your finger with a hammer). i do not and will not recommend the use of any "registry cleaner" (legitimate types) by individuals of limited knowledge (i use the term "unhip"). To be honest, i have seen cases where running the CCleaner registry cleaner did make a difference in the operation of a comp (it was a couple of years old and had programs and junk constantly installed/uninstalled, etc. Ĭan/do/will these "entries" really cause problems ? it all depends on how you define "problems". Many of these are "left behind" after uninstalling/updating/installing a program. and yes, some of these will be associated with certain programs. You mentioned "quite a lot" of bad registry entries. that reason is that sometimes things get screwed up and the backup files are a way to recover from the error. The registry backups are there for a reason. To answer your question based on the fact that you have chose to use the registry cleaner in CCleaner. ![]() My inquiry what is the benefit form that file of backup and must I keep itįinally: why when I have run the file of backup, the file run immediately? I mean what I should do if I want to see/ browse the changes which are saved in that file. However, when open the CCeaner immediately and made a scan for issue before I run the file of backup for the changes I have spotted that there isn't any issue appeared in the list. Finally: I spotted that the problems which have been fixed came back again to appears in the list of probems in that programme. Next, I open the CCleaner again and click the scan button. After that, I have went to the file of backup and run it to see what will happen because I am quite surprised what that file is for, I have encountered a message like in the second picture. Then, when the prgramme fixed the issus I have close it. Second, I have encountered a message which requests whether I want to save a backup of these changes or not. I have tried cleaning the registry with the CCleaner the following happens: first, I have clicked on the scan" button and when the scanning has finished I tried clicking the "fix issus" button.
